RLE

Transparent lens phacoemulsification as a type of refractive surgery

Unlike other refractive procedures, which involve changing the curvature of the cornea, RLE is based on the removal of natural, transparent lens of the eye and a placement of prosthetic implant in its anatomical position. The implant has a different refractive power of the natural lens and thus eliminates the need for wearing glasses and contact lenses for people over 40 years of age.

With the introduction of up-to-date technology in the eye surgery, phacoemulsification has become one of the safest and most commonly performed procedures in the world. It has also enabled the sophisticated technology used in phacoemulsification and adversaries for the purposes of removing the so-called correction. Refractive surgery of transparent lens is very similar to cataract surgery, quick, simple and secure.

As cataract surgery, this procedure involves the removing of the natural lens of the eye and replacing it with an artificial intraocular implant (IOL). Artificial lens of Premium Group (multifocal lenses, aspherical lenses and accommodative lenses) are available to us. Your eye care professional after a thorough examination will suggest the type of lens that is the best for you.

This procedure can help in the following situations:

Presbyopia, as an inability to maintain a clear image (focus) as objects are closer. It occurs due to reduced elasticity of the lens with age.

Myopia or nearsightedness: the inability to see distant objects as clearly as near objects.

Hyperopia or farsightedness: Farsighted people have vision problems up close before 40 years of age.

Benefits RLE as a method of choice for the "removal of dioptric power of the eye"

• Very fast recovery

• Excellent predictability of outcomes

• Excellent quality of vision

• There may be a better option than LASIK for people over 40 years of age

• Almost the same procedure as for cataract surgery
